They likely wont lay this year. I believe they have to be 6 months old to lay. You will also want to look into any city regulations. I know Andy wanted some and it was a 6 page document and alot of rules so he opted not too. They dont make it easy in most cities.

When will your chix start laying eggs? I've thought about getting some but i just don't think we have the room. Maybe a couple bantams....
